As I was approaching my 55th birthday during the COVID lockdown of 2020, I reached my heaviest weight ever and was in the worst shape of my life. On my own, I changed my diet, started running again and made some progress losing weight over a period of three months but had reached the limit of what I could do on my own. There are hundreds of protein powders, shakes, and meal replacements on the market, and believe me, I’ve tried many. Most of these powdery substances tasted chalky, left me bloated, hungry, cranky, and after a day or two, I was off to something else. Never give up! During my 12 year career with the US Women’s National Team, I had many roles. I was a starter, I was dubbed the “super sub” and I was even cut from the team.
